Get Some Thick Skin Donald

Have you ever wondered where the phrase “skin in the game” or it’s “no skin off my back” originated?  Many could say the same thing about “getting a thick skin”.

In the world of politics I think all three could apply but none more than “getting a thick skin”.  I was reminded of this the other day when Donald Trump complained that the reason he tweeted remarks about the Muslim Khizr Khan was because Khan had said “very bad things about him”.

Really, Donald?  Perhaps you’d better toughen up the skin on your back if you’re going to have the toughest job in the United States or for that matter in the world.

If I were to write an epitaph on Mr. Trump’s gravestone it would certainly read:  Here lies a man who should have cut off his fingers and put duct tape over his mouth and then he might have been President of the United States.

My statement does not mean in any way that I adore Hillary or believe she should be POTUS.  On the contrary, having another “Liar in Chief” in the White House is more than this country should want to endure. Unfortunately, things are looking pretty grim for America these days. We don’t appear to have much of a choice in the way of leadership.

So what exactly happened to our government since it became a Bureaucratic mess?

Could it be that our politicians are making a life long career of serving their country instead of the four to eight years originally intended by the Founding Fathers?   Founding Fathers

Could it be all the lobbyists for whom these same politicians cater to and vote their preference instead of what is best for the country?

Could it be the great medical and pension benefits received by those in government, especially congress, for serving a term in office?

Perhaps  the congress should exchange their benefit package with the Veterans who wait in line and die because they cannot get medical care.

Perhaps congress should be subject to all the rules of Obamacare instead of exempt from it.

Yes, Donald Trump is very correct in what he says about the corruption in our country and how congress votes on the wishes of others rather than for the betterment of the country.  Sadly, because he is not politically correct, Donald will probably never see the inside of the Oval Office.

It will be filled by a woman who knows no boundaries for lying, cheating and defrauding the American people.  She is proud of her record and her tenure will surely lead the country further down the road towards collapse.

Our choice becomes the lesser of two evils and that is a choice we must each make for ourselves.  That’s the beauty of freedom.

But what of Donald?  Does he have the temperament to be President?  It’s interesting that Hillary is basing her campaign upon the conjecture that he fails the test.  When you think about it, Donald Trump has billions and it probably has a great deal to do with temperament, cunning, and skill.

Do people really think it’s easy out in the high finance world?

I submit it not his temperament we have to worry about, it’s his skin when he stands in limelight.  Will he use his finger to embarrass the nation, himself, and the wrong people?  Perhaps an added layer of skin might do the trick, Mr. Trump.  What do you think?

Try it on for size.
